Importance of ACTIVISM
In addition to activism being fun, students are expected to gain different experiences and skills in addition to studying, so that they can be critical. Of course, studying is important, but your social skills and organisational competences are equally important.
This is something that you learn when you are an active student. ‘Being active is an investment in yourself.’ By becoming active, students will have a tremendously educational and fun time. You meet many different people and at the same time you gain many experiences that you will benefit from later. In addition, students develop different competences that you do not learn from textbooks, examples of which are competences such as: leadership, self-management, showing initiative, and making decisions. You also have an advantage in the job market, as being active is a score with future employers. What students have done next to their studies and how they have developed socially and organisationally play an important part in how you qualify for that one job!
