Have the best break ever

By Buro Winners

So, here we are. In a totally new situation, with a lot of new challenges. How to study at home? How to become productive with temptations like Netflix, Facebook or your bed so close? How to stay in contact with your friends, study mates and relatives? In the upcoming posts we try to help you with these questions and support you to make the best of it. This time on how to have the best break ever.

BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE

How can you become the best you can be. You might think you need to put in a lot of effort to do so. Well, you are probably right. It takes effort, endurance and perseverance to be the best you can be. But you can only have periods of high performance and focus if you know how to relax. So that is why we want to answer the question of how to have effective breaks.

RULES TO APPLY

To have an effective break and energize yourself there is only two simple rules you should apply:

1.      Move!
We are not made to sit for long periods. As soon as you have a break, start moving. Walking, running, dancing, anything is good.

2.      Do something that is uncommon

Think of things that are really unusual and maybe even strange to do. When we wouldn’t be in this corona pandemic, we would suggest something like this. It’s a perfect example of applying both the rules.

ANYTHING GOES

When you apply these two rules, anything you come up with goes. This can become so much fun that you realise, getting a coffee and taking a stroll was the dullest break you could have! One of our favourites, which you might want to try, is to put on your favourite music and dance OFF the beat!

CORONA FREE EFFECTIVE BREAK FOR TWO

Maybe normally you would have met with someone in the library to study together? It doesn’t have to be on the same subject, the benefit is you can monitor each other and alternate time slots together for effective studying and effective breaks. We have a suggestion for an effective and really fun way of having a break together. You don’t need a library for it, you could do it in a video call.

Preparation: the two of you should stand up and look at the camera.

Round 1:
You will count one, two, three, together, taking turns per number. So person A says 1, B says 2, A says 3. And then B starts with 1 again, A says 2, B says 3. Now it starts all over again: A says 1, etcetera.

Round 2:
Same as round 1. Addition: when you are the person who has to say 1, clap your hands once.

Round 3:

Same as round 2. Addition: when you have to say 2, bend your knees a little

Round 4:

Same as round 3. Addition: when you have to say 3, jump up a little.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO AFTER CORONA?

In the media people start wondering about the question what should we do after corona, when we are able to get back to our normal live. We suggest having effective breaks by moving and doing extra-ordinary things should be one of them!

Have fantastic breaks and fun!
