vaccinations for international students
International students can get vaccinated (and tested) without a BSN-nummer (the Dutch social security number). Although students are able to get vaccinated and tested, they are unable to get a QR-code. The QR-code is part of 'testen voor toegang' used in the Netherlands to get access to events such as festivals. At this time, people are working to resolve this problem.
VACCINATION
- When you have not received any Covid-19 vaccinations yet you can get fully vaccinated in the Netherlands. You will receive a vaccine used and approved in the Netherlands.
- Students who have not yet received their first Covid-19 vaccine, can freely enter the vaccination location at the Colloseum 72. This location is a five-minute bike ride from the main entrance of the UT. You can also travel by bus (line 1) or by train (Station Enschede Kennispark). When you go there to get your vaccination, do not forget to bring a facemask and your ID with you. You can go without an appointment if it’s your first vaccination (opening hours are from 8:30 to 16:00, see this page for the specific dates).
- When you have received 1 shot of a Covid-19 vaccination which is used in the Netherlands you can get fully vaccinated in the Netherlands. You will receive the same brand vaccine unless this vaccine is not indicated for you due to age or pregnancy. In this situation, you will receive the vaccine that is customary in the Netherlands. In case you have already had one, please make an appointment online at www.coronavaccinatieafspraak.nl or by calling 0800-7070.
- When you have received 1 shot of a Covid-19 vaccination which is not used in the Netherlands however, is on the list of the ema or WHO (Status of COVID-19 Vaccines within WHO EUL/PQ evaluation process) you can get fully vaccinated in the Netherlands. You will receive an mRNA vaccine 28 days or longer after your first vaccine. you can use this link to request an invitation.
- When you are fully vaccinated or received one shot and your vaccine is not on the list of the ema or WHO (Status of COVID-19 Vaccines within WHO EUL/PQ evaluation process) your vaccine is not equal to a Covid-19 vaccine used in the Netherlands, therefore you will need to get fully vaccinated in the Netherlands.
- When you are fully vaccinated and your vaccine is on the list of the ema or WHO (Status of COVID-19 Vaccines within WHO EUL/PQ evaluation process) you do not have to get vaccinated in the Netherlands.
