Prius celebrates 4th lustum Student Union with ReUnion

Last Saturday we celebrated the fourth lustrum of Prius, the association for former board members of the Student Union (SU). Around 40 former board members came together to celebrate this moment and see each other again after many years. Among them were several alumni who were involved in the SU from the very first moment. Special guest Frans van Vught, former rector magnificus, who was involved in establishing the SU in 1999, opened the day with a few words about the importance of student activism at the UT and the roll that the SU has played in this. Dirk Koelewijn also got on stage on behalf of the current SU board to update his (distant) predecessors on current SU undertakings.

Soon afterwards, the group split up to explore the campus through means of a photo challenge. In many ways the campus has undergone a metamorphosis in which many former SU board members have been involved, sometimes without even seeing the result. This photo challenge made up part of a pub quiz whereby former board members were quizzed on their knowledge. It was as a result, of course, not a surprise that the team of Frans van Vught received the final prize, a generous beer package. The day ended with the enjoyment of dinner and drinks. All in all, it was a nice day to enjoy each others company, which will definitely be repeated in five years.
