How can we invite students to think about sustainable living, while they often only live at their student house for a couple of years? In most student houses, sustainability is not a top priority, since sustainable investments take time and financial resources. That is why in February and March of 2021, the first edition of the UT Eco Challenge took place. The challenge provided an opportunity for student houses to make small investments that are beneficial on a short-term and long-term basis. Students were challenged to come up with creative ideas of how they could make their student house more sustainable. The top 6 winners of the challenge went home with prizes ranging from €200 to €1500, which they will use to make sustainable investments in their houses.
