Huize Bentrot
Hello, we are huize Bentrot and we are 11 guys all studying in Enschede. We have plenty of people who love to do odd jobs, so we came up with some ideas on how to improve our house, and make it more environmentally friendly. Our main idea is to use cold, outside winter air to cool the beer in our beer fridge. Based on KNMI data from the last 50 years, we estimate that there will be about 79 days per year on which the maximum temperature will not go above 7 degrees. With this system, we won’t have to use any power to cool beer during any of those days!
schildpatio
Greetings from Schildpatio Student House, part of the UT campus. Our environmentally conscious community has embraced an approach to sustainable living. It all begins in our kitchen, where we make use of leftover vegetable scraps. Due to the absence of organic waste bins on campus, we've set up our very own green waste collection. The magic continues as we compost this organic waste, enriching our soil. Currently, we grow a variety of vegetables like bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. But we're not stopping there; we plan to expand our vegetable garden by constructing a greenhouse, allowing us to grow even more fresh produce and herbs.
skybox
Step into Skybox, where we're redefining the way we source and consume vegetables. Currently, veggies travel miles from different countries, impacting our environment and resources. Our solution? Indoor hydroponic gardens within our studios These self-sustaining gardens minimize energy consumption while maximizing sustainability. With your support, we aim to expand this initiative, connecting more residents and creating a network of indoor gardens. Growing and trading our produce is our way of curbing carbon emissions and promoting a greener tomorrow.
ITC hotel
Welcome to ITC Hotel, an international dormitory. We're on a mission to make sustainable living a reality, reducing unnecessary waste and greenhouse gas emissions. Our exciting initiative is the Eco Market, designed to cut waste and reduce emissions. As residents return home after a year, they often face the dilemma of excess belongings. Instead of discarding them, post them on our Eco Market board, creating a community of products that can be used by new tenants. Those in need can connect with you, reducing waste generated by new items. As the Eco Market grows, so does its impact.
