This year the third edition of the Big Battle will take place in Metropool Enschede on May 31 2019, organized by student jazz association StuBiBa! After a day of coaching by great Dutch musicians, the best student big bands of the Netherlands will compete against each other for the title ‘Best student big band of the Netherlands’. The Utrechtse Studenten Bigband will defend her position as winner of Big Battle II against Groover Bigband (Delft), the Amsterdamse Studenten Bigband and the UTmost Bigband (Enschede). With a line-up full of smashing funk, soul and jazz, it promises to be an evening that you cannot miss!
The piece ‘Habits’ has especially been composed for this occasion by Joris Bolhaar, a young composer from Enschede. The jury will consist of Jan Wessels, Vincent Veneman, Marc Scholten and Rob Horsting.
The evening promises to be an epic party with good music and enthusiastic bands, so don’t miss it!
