The most fun orchestra in the Netherlands is looking for musicians!
Are you a student in Enschede (at the University of Twente, Saxion or ArtEZ), do you play a wind instrument or percussion, and do you enjoy making music? Then the Student Wind Orchestra Twente (SHOT) is perfect for you!
We rehearse every Thursday from 20:00 to 22:30 in the Audio Hall of the Vrijhof (University of Twente). In addition to the weekly rehearsals, we also organize rehearsal weekends, where we make music together from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and enjoy lots of fun together. We also regularly give concerts and even go on concert tours abroad. As a member of SHOT, you are not only part of a fun student orchestra, but you also get the opportunity to further develop your musical skills and make friends for life.
We play a wide variety of music, from film music to Coldplay and much more. We also regularly participate in competitions and festivals where we try to get as many points from the jury as possible. Last time, we achieved an average of 91.5 points and won in the first division!
In addition to making music, we organize all kinds of activities and after rehearsals we often go for drinks together. This makes us a very close-knit orchestra where everyone is welcome.
On the three Thursdays of September 10th 17th and 24th, we have open rehearsals! Feel free to come by and see if you like it. You can simply follow along with the sheet music, and if necessary, we can probably even arrange an instrument for you. Sign up via the link or just drop by!
