Vacancy Well-being Team Member:
Well-Being weeks coordinator
What do you do as a Well-being week coordinator?
You will be part of the Well-being Team of the Student Union. Your tasks as a member of this team are versatile and you can put your own creativity into it. Your main task is organising the well-being weeks and making sure the student perspective is ensured.
Every year in November and June, the well-being weeks take place. You will be given a lot of freedom in organising the programme. It is important that you carefully assess students’ needs and translate these into suitable activities during the well-being weeks. You can fully use your creativity, as each edition features different activities, alongside a few classics such as Relaxing with Dogs.
You will collaborate with the team that organises the staff programme(well-being working group). And as a member of the SU well-being team, you will be in close contact with a board member of the SU, and the other SU well-being employees who mainly focus on the Look After Your Friend (LAYF) trainings. However, you will mostly work independently, so it is important that you take initiative.
On yearly average, you will spend about four hours per week on this role.
However, since the well-being weeks take place in May/June and October/November, you can expect a peak workload during those periods (around 20–30 hours per month). Other weeks will be less than 4 hours a week.
As well-being weeks coordinator your main tasks and responsibilities are as follows:
- Program Development & Organisation You are the primary person responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating the complete student programme. You assess students’ needs and translate these into a diverse range of suitable activities. Use your creativity: from accessible “classics” such as Relaxing with Dogs to new and innovative concepts. You align the planning with the academic calendar: major events are scheduled outside exam periods, while during exams you focus on low-key, study-supportive activities.
- Collaboration & Coordination You work closely with the SU Well-being Team (including LAYF trainers and an SU board member) and coordinate their involvement in brainstorming sessions, promotion, and the execution of events. You create an integrated offering by collaborating with the UT Well-being Working Group, which organizes the staff program.
- Policy & Promotion You contribute to the broader well-being strategies of the SU and UT, in line with the Student Well-being Implementation Program (SWIP). You are responsible for developing and implementing the promotional campaign, in collaboration with the communication officers of the SU and SWIP. You manage practical and administrative matters, including budget monitoring and handling invoices and expense claims.
What does this job offer?
- An exciting and challenging job that will extend your knowledge of mental health issues.
- A chance to have a direct impact on student well-being at UT.
- The opportunity to fully utilise your creativity and organisational talents while gaining valuable experience.
- A contract through the Student Union.
- Flexible working hours: on average 4 hours per week, with a peak workload of 20–30 hours per month in the lead-up to the Well-being Weeks (May/June and October/November).
What are we looking for?
- You are a current student at the University of Twente and are fluent in Dutch and English.
