Sustainability Thinktank

As one of the leading educational institutions in the Netherlands, the UT has set its ambitious development goals to grow a fair, sustainable and digital society. A couple of years ago the Shaping 2030 program was established to settle down these goals and now it is time to work towards them. However, the more ambitious aims you set, the more creative solutions you need to reach those. And this is what the big guys from the management team miss, this is what we need your input for. This year the focus is made on designing Energy, Events and Food&Drinks use in UT in a more efficient and sustainable manner.

This event is meant for the students of UT at any level of study and can be as serious or fun as you want it to be. The thinktank is a one-day event that includes a brainstorming workshop, socialising activities, a final elevator pitch and, of course, free food. Depending on your mindset you can win small prizes in one of the numerous categories. There are multiple ways to come out of the event with something. The aim of this day is to have fun, meet new people, be creative and come up with good ideas. Taking part is free of charge.

After the thinktank, those who wish to prototype their ideas more seriously can (not mandatory) continue to the second phase of the event. This phase is spread out through 2 weeks and includes multiple workshops on design thinking by University Innovation Fellows. It concludes with a final presentation of the prototype to SEE members and the representative of the executive board Machteld Roos.
