As a student at the UT, it is highly recommended to get the UnionCard. You get many discounts and special deals around Enschede, including free use of the swimming pool and other sports facilities. You also need it to join any sports or culture association, although this requires an additional yearly fee of €33,-. Make sure to get the card before 15 October to still pay the discounted price of 60 euros.
