Vacancy: employee External Affairs
Are you the person who represents 13,000+ students in discussions with external organisations? Do you know how to create the perfect additions to UnionDeals? Are you able to take relationships with our partners to the next level? Do you enjoy developing yourself while also getting paid? Then you might soon be working with us as a e for External Relations!
What will you do?
As employee External Affairs, you are the link between the internal organisation of the Student Union and external contacts. A large part of your work will focus on UnionDeals and Unioncard Xtras. In addition, you will support the portfolio holder External Affairs with projects related to external partnerships.
This is a very broad role, offering a high degree of freedom in how you shape your work. Not only will you gain valuable experience, but you will also make an impact for students and the Student Union by:
- Acquiring and maintaining new UnionDeals for 13,000+ students
For example, you might establish a partnership for padel and see how actively students use the offer. - Maintaining contact with existing Student Union partners
You will be involved in negotiations, for example with the swimming pool for the UnionCard collaboration. - Supporting the External Relations portfolio holder in meetings about new partnerships
When finding a new sponsor for the sustainability fund, you will not only identify potential partners but also engage in conversations with external organisations and negotiate the best deals for the Student Union.
What do we expect from you?
For this role, we are looking for someone who:
- Has a proactive attitude
- Can work independently
- Is presentable and professional
- Is available for at least one year, 2 to 5 hours per week, starting from the beginning of the new academic year
- Has experience with acquisition (preferred)
Where will you work?
You will join the Student Union and work alongside the SU community. In this role, you will have a lot of freedom and will shape your tasks in consultation with the portfolio holder External Affairs. Your working hours are flexible. If you have time and great ideas, you can work more hours during that period. If you are busy with exams, you can temporarily reduce your hours. Of course, you will receive an appropriate hourly wage.
