Frequently asked Questions

How do I become a member of a sports or cultural association?

To become a member of a sports or cultural association, you need a Union- or CampusCard. First, register with the association you’d like to join. After registration, you can pay the association fee through the Sports & Culture website or app. Note that associations often charge a separate contribution for joining their association.

What is the FitnessCard, and how does it differ from the UnionCard?

The FitnessCard is an additional product that you can purchase alongside the UnionCard. It provides unlimited access to the Fitness Center and allows you to join group lessons at the Sports Center.

My UnionCard isn’t working, what should I do?

If you aren’t able to purchase a UnionCard through the Sports & Culture website or app, try refreshing. If this doesn’t help, try waiting a day – it could be a server malfunction. If you’re still unable to purchase your UnionCard, contact UnionCard Support through unioncard@utwente.nl or visit the service desk of the Sports Centre for help. If you have trouble scanning your UnionCard due to damage to your student card, please contact Student Services (studentservices@utwente.nl).

I would like to get a refund for my subscriptions. Is this possible?

What happens if I don’t buy a UnionCard, and join an association?

Association members are periodically checked on having all necessary subscriptions for association membership. If you are missing a subscription, you run the risk of getting a fine. See this page for an overview of fine policy and prices.
