On 19 May and 21 May students from the University of Twente and Saxon University organise a science communication event: Pint of Science. In an informal setting 2 speakers will present their research. With questions and discussion. On May 19 the event will be in English, on May 21 it will be in Dutch. Location is the Foodhal in the city centre of Enschede.
How is a roller coaster designed? What exactly is artificial intelligence? What can you do with satellites? And what do you have to take into account if you live near a volcano? All of that is part of the research that is done in Enschede. Pint of Science brings scientists and the public together in an informal setting—cafés and bars—making science accessible and engaging for everyone. In 2024, the festival took place in over 280 cities across 25 countries and four continents. This year, Enschede joins the list! Both evenings, the doors open at 19:00 and the presentations start at 19:30. Don't expect dry lectures, but lively presentations, surprising insights and a pleasant evening with science and beer.
