Vacancy Student Trainer
The Student Union is looking for new student trainers! Do you want to help boards or committees improve their cooperation and skills? Do you have experience with working in a board or big committee and want to share your experience with other students? As a student trainer you will give workshops to part-time boards or committees to learn them several skills. You will be trained by Huub Schulte Fischedick from Buro Winners who has trained many students and boards of the University of Twente but also other teams and companies during his many years of experience.
How will the Student Trainers be taught?
In a four-hour session Huub will teach you how you can create the right focus, get the group’s attention, give the right instructions, guide the training in the right direction and more! You will learn how to train students in several skills:
- Train students to listen, summarise and ask follow-up questions
- Train students to make proper work appointments between themselves
- Train students such that they can tune their communication to the situation with strength, compassion and playfulness.
- Train students on how they give feedback to each other.
You will also attend a training from another student trainer to see the theory you’ve learned take place in practice. After this training period, you are good to go on giving the first training to part-time board members. Huub will attend one of your training sessions after which feedback will take place and when successful, a certificate is handed to you making you an eligible Student Trainer. Later a professionalisation training will take place. Here you can brush up and learn new skills.
What will you do as a Student Trainer?
The training will be given to part-time boards and committees. It will consist of a small interview to get to know the board members. After this the first of the two sessions can start, each session takes two hours. The two sessions are spread around a small period (1/2 weeks) to give the participants some time to gain some experience with the material taught. When the training is concluded the participants will fill in a questionnaire which can help in your personal development as a trainer.
By being a Student Trainer, you will help increase the number of available board trainings. This affects the personal development of UT students and the general growth and improvement for the attending boards and committees.
