Board blog Roos

The previous week was the first week for our four new board members. Arthur, Jeroen, Sietse and Roos are now part of the team. Tom and I are the experienced ones now. As president, it’s my task to mentor the new board members in the beginning of their board year. As a new board member, you are overloaded with information and full of new ideas. I hope to help them in prioritizing their tasks and coach them, together with Tom, through their first months.

Next to our four new board members, the UT is 2100 students richer. I had the honour to welcome all new Bachelor students during the opening presentation of the Kick-In. I really enjoyed this presentation and talking to new students. I hope they’ve become enthusiastic to get active themselves.

The Student Union is setting up her Annual Plan for 2019. In this document, the SU will present her plans for the upcoming year. Last week I collected a lot of input by organising participants sessions for the boards of student associations. 50 associations had their opinions heard, which is a lot! Next to that, our own student employees offered very good ideas as well. I feel like we have enough input now to write an Annual Plan.

Next to all this, I monitor the recognisitions for organizations. Lots of new student organisations are on route to become an Union recognised associations. Union recognised associations have, among other things, a seat in our Participants Council and the possibility to get subsidies for events, when those are organised for all UT students. De Sevende Camer, Electic Superbike and Sustain, an association focussed on sustainability, are examples of organizations who're getting their Union recognition!
